Usually people don’t add chilies in pesto sauce but I feel that sauces must be a bit spicy to balance the moderate tastes of pastas. Green chilies are milder in taste as compared to red chili flakes. In addition, the vivid green color of chilies brightens the overall look of pesto sauce. 

  • Parmesan Cheese 

Parmesan cheese is an optional ingredient in pesto sauce recipe. If you want to add some creamy taste and a velvety texture to the pesto sauce then do add this ingredient.

  • ¼ cup pine nuts/ walnuts 
  • 3 tbsp olive oil 
  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • 4 green chilies medium
